Ways to Give The Gay and Lesbian Fund for Dallas is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity. The Fund bundles gifts of many individuals, families and corporations to help fund local Dallas area non-profit organizations and programs that meet the Fund's criteria for beneficiaries.
Any beneficiary of the Fund must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and must meet the following criteria: - it must serve non gay-focused causes
- it must have an employment nondiscrimination policy that includes sexual orientation
- it must openly recognize the Gay and Lesbian Fund for Dallas as the grant source
Why Give Through the Gay & Lesbian Fund? BUNDLING = BIGGER IMPACT. By bundling your donation with donations of other donors into one larger gift, the Fund greatly increases the visibility and impact of your contribution and gay and lesbian philanthropy. The Fund has bundled over $600,000 of donations from the gay community already!
SUPPORT THOSE WHO SUPPORT US. By giving through the Fund you'll know that your donations are helping gay-friendly organizations and programs because all beneficiaries of the Fund must have an employment nondiscrimination policy that includes sexual orientation.
TAX DEDUCTION. GLFD is a 501(c)(3) public charity so your gifts through the Fund are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. We'll provide you with a letter for your tax records.
IT'S EASY. You can make donations online www.glfd.org or by check to GLFD at 3818 Cedar Springs, Suite 101, Box 371, Dallas, 75219.
EVERY DOLLAR YOU GIVE IS PASSED ON. Every dollar you give to a beneficiary through the Fund is passed on to that beneficiary (minus the minimal credit-card transaction fee imposed by credit card companies for online donations).
MAKE EVERY DOLLAR YOU GIVE A "GAY DOLLAR". Gay men and lesbians give generously to gay and non-gay focused causes alike. Contributions you make to non-gay charities – "non-gay dollars" – are "gay dollars" when you make the same contributions through the Gay and Lesbian Fund HOW to give through the Gay and Lesbian Fund for Dallas. Gift Bundling The Fund has established relationships with many local non-profits that meet the eligibility criteria listed above. Make your contributions to any of these organizations through the Fund.
HOW MUCH OF MY CONTRIBTION GOES TO THE BENEFICIARY? Every dollar of a contribution you make to any of these organizations through the Fund will be passed on to the organization.
HOW DOES BUNDLING WORK? Periodically throughout the year the Fund will pass all contributions made through the Fund to the designated beneficiaries in accordance with established Fund guidelines. The recipient organizations have all agreed to recognize the bundled contributions as a single gift with the organization’s applicable recognition methods.
HOW DO I GET MY TAX DEDUCTION? Since your contribution is actually made to the Fund, which is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) charity, you get the same tax deduction benefits as if you would give to your designated non-profit charity. For all donations of $250 and above, the Fund will send you a letter acknowledging your donation for your tax records.
WILL I GET INDIVIDUAL RECONGITION FOR MY GIFT? In addition to the Fund receiving recognition for the gift, if you desire individual recognition by the beneficiary organization as well, where possible, the beneficiary organization will recognize you individually for your donation. Whether individual recognition is possible depends on the policies of each organization. If such recognition is possible we will ensure that your individual recognition is not tied to the larger bundled gift of the Fund unless you tell us otherwise. Regardless of how you are recognized, however, you will receive only one tax deduction letter. Please let us know if you have questions about individual recognition for your gift by sending an email to

Formal Bundling Programs: The Gay and Lesbian Fund for Dallas has established formal, ongoing bundling programs with three Dallas non-profits: The Dallas Museum of Art, KERA 90.1, and The Dallas Symphony. If you are a supporter of any of these organizations, we invite you to participate in our bundling programs, described below.
Dallas Museum of Art: Four years ago the Fund established its partnership bundling program with the Dallas Museum of Art. Through this bundling program, Museum supporters can become members of the Museum at any established membership level, receive all the benefits of Museum membership and have their donations combined with other Museum donors through the Fund to make one large gift at the end of the Museum's fiscal year (September 30). The result is a win for everyone: individual donors receive all benefits of their individual membership level and the Fund is recognized as a corporate sponsor in the amount of the combined donations.
As an added benefit that is available to no one else, GLFD-DMA members are invited to our quarterly "Walk & Talk" series, which are private tours of various exhibits at the Museum, led by Museum curators. The quarterly Walk & Talks are open to any member of the Museum who joins through the Fund's bundling program. The tours provide a unique opportunity for members to see the Museum's permanent collections and temporarily exhibits up close and personal with small, private tours led by with Museum curators.
As with all GLFD programs, 100% of individual donations is passed on to the beneficiary.

You will receive all the benefits you would otherwise receive by making your donation to KERA directly and KERA will recognize the GLFD for its bundled gift as a programming sponsor. Every quarter the Fund will combine and present all donations received during that quarter to KERA in exchange of on-air recognition of the Fund as a corporate sponsor of programming. Don't wait till the next KERA pledge drive…you can make your KERA donation online through our secure website now by clicking here. (link to pledge form). Through this bundling program, Symphony supporters can become members of the DSO at any established DSO membership level, receive all the benefits of DSO membership and have their donations combined with other DSO donors through the Fund to make one large gift at the end of the Symphony's fiscal year (June 30). The result is a win for everyone: individual donors receive all benefits of their individual membership level and the Fund is recognized as a corporate sponsor in the amount of the combined donations.
Members of the DSO at the Vivaldi Patron Circle level and higher (annual gifts of $500) will be invited to a series of private events throughout the year sponsored by the Symphony where you can mingle with musicians and guest artists of the Symphony. The Gay and Lesbian Fund has established a General Fund, which is a general pool of funds to which donors may make contributions. Contributions to the General Fund will be used for two purposes: to help fund the minimal operational costs of the Gay and Lesbian Fund for Dallas; and to make grants at the Fund's discretion to qualifying beneficiaries.
